Jean Lambert MEP and AGE - the European Older People’s Platform invite you to attend the Intergroup on Ageing meeting on "the situation of older migrants in the EU" In the context of the European year on Intercultural Dialogue 2008, this Intergroup on Ageing meeting will seek to raise awareness of the situation of older migrants in the European Union from a multi-dimensional approach addressing the key policy areas which have an impact on older migrants lives: social inclusion, social protection, health and long-term care, non-discrimination, employment and active ageing, and lifelong learning. Interpretation provided in French, English and German. Agenda: Introductions and welcome by the Chair Jean Lambert MEP, Co-President of the Intergroup on Ageing and member of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee; Information on the European Commission’s activities directed to older migrants by Mr. Ralf Jacob, DG Employment, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities; Presentation of the EU project on “Active Ageing of Migrant Elders across Europe” (AAMEE) by Dr. Clause Eppe, project leader AAMEE; Presentation of a research on older isolated migrant women from Morocco living in the region of Paris by Ms. Majda Cherakoui, Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique, UMR 6578 Unité d'Anthropologie, Université de la Meditérranée Aix-Marseilles; Presentation of AGE paper on discrimination faced by older migrants, by Anne-Sophie Parent, Director of AGE; Questions and Debate; Conclusions and close of meeting by Jean Lambert MEP .
