We invite you to join us in an interactive discussion that aims to drive initiatives that facilitate interoperability and maximise the benefits of the standards system. In recent years the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) sector has evolved to new levels of collaboration, openness and transparency, enabling products and services of different vendors to connect seamlessly with one another. Standards have played a crucial role in encouraging this trend and helping to facilitate interoperability of ICT products. However, given the fast paced nature of this sector, should the current standardisation framework be modified to address the ever changing requirements of participants, implementers, and the public sector? Is now the time to look at improving the existing system so that it continues to foster interoperability while at the same time encouraging innovation? This roundtable discussion brings together participants from the industry, government, academia, and standards bodies to start an open debate on how to enable public-private partnership through standardisation and how to secure continued investment in innovation at a time of economic turmoil.
