All the makings of a resounding big bang

CERN’s Large Hadron Collider brings scientists and the public together to celebrate human progress

The world of science tends to generally exist and function slightly outside the sphere of public consciousness. We know about scientific research insofar as we know it exists and also when it makes a breakthrough big enough to hit the news. Otherwise, the closest connection that the average person shares with the scientific community is perhaps through the products and innovations which their research and development help produce. The communications team at CERN however sought to break through the barrier separating the public from the research they were conducting with the launch of the Large Hadron Collider.
