There is a consensus among business scholars on the important role played by the largely undocumented experience acquired over the years by individual workers and business alike, and the crucial function it performs for the survival of organisations. Furthermore, leveraging past experience, expertise and other collective resources can be a determinant of organisational success during times of change.
