In the age of social media, communicators need to change the way they manage reputations

Reputation loss is considered one of the greatest threats to contemporary organisations. Additionally, reputational risks have become more endemic due to the globalisation of the media and almost revolutionary proliferation of the internet. The growing power of the internet’s social media communities and services, the increasing pressure on ethical organisational behaviour and other social expectations, and a general decline in trust, are encouraging an active and protective stance in reputation management.
