Why Claire Warmenbol wants to conserve nature for the next generation.

 

Claire Warmenbol’s first jobs were with the United Nations EU Information Office, the European Environmental Bureau and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). In 2008, Claire moved to London to work as associate producer for One Planet Pictures, producing the BBC documentary Nature Inc, a series on the economics of ecosystems. In 2010, Claire worked in Suva, Fiji to lead the communications of a new IUCN Water Programme in the Pacific region and, for the past seven years, she has been the communications manager of the IUCN Water Programme. Claire is also a trained participatory video facilitator and has filmed and produced numerous documentaries.

For the past seven years, Claire has been the communications manager of the IUCN Water Programme, specialising in knowledge management and communications strategies, including outreach and marketing, website development, press, video production, publications, and social media. Claire is a trained participatory video facilitator and has filmed and produced numerous documentaries on environmental issues. Claire is from Antwerp, Belgium and is fluent in English, French and Dutch, with good knowledge of Spanish and German. She is based at the IUCN Headquarters in Gland, Switzerland.
