This webinar on the Climathon campaign will be hosted by Kelsey Hunter, corporate communications Manager at Climate-KIC and finalist of this year's European Young Communicator Award.

The Climathon movement's 24-hour climate change hackathon is organised simultaneously in major cities around the world. Attracting innovators, entrepreneurs, students and professionals to create innovative solutions to climate change challenges in cities, Climathon was founded in 2015 in the run up to the historic Paris climate negotiations and has grown tremendously since: from 19 to 59 cities in 2016, operating across 6 continents, creating over 2330 ideas and reaching 16.8 million people worldwide last year.  Climathon is on target to double again to over 110 cities in 2017. The Climathon campaign delves into how to effectively turn an event into a social movement, utilising tools like social media, live broadcasting, and endorsers to increase visibility and drive a movement worldwide.

Sub-topics that will be discussed with Kelsey include:

  • Global campaign
  • Audience engagement
  • Social media tools
  • Live broadcasting
  • Using endorsers/influencers
