The CEO-CCO relationship has a crucial strategic importance – for both the communications function and the organisation as a whole. How do communications leaders position their CEOs in a way that is both authentic and that brings benefit to the overall corporate reputation – and even the financial bottom line? How does the relationship between the top executives and the chief communications officer help position the CCO as a strategic leader? Is executive positioning determined by generation, industry and geography? And, in a Europe where the political contract is being rewritten by extremists, interest groups, and populist parties, are business leaders taking on a more vocal role in social issues, stepping in where our political leaders are failing – and, if so, what role does the CCO have to play in this?

The EACD Forum is the association's closing event for the year, where senior communicators and business leaders come together to discuss an important trend in the profession. The Forum changes location each year to reflect the international scope of our membership base. This year, the discussion will focus on executive positioning and strategic leadership.
