More than two-thirds of senior communicators in Asia Pacific are concerned with the social media response preparedness of their own organisation.
This finding comes from the inaugural State of Reputation Risk in Asia report from the Asia-Pacific Association of Communication Directors and international communications firm Ruder Finn .
The report also reveals while almost all participants in the study reported that organisational reputation is crucial to success only 65% believe their organisation has the resources to manage an event critical to reputation.
This shows not only a potential weakness in organisations operating in Asia Pacific but also a missed opportunity for boosting reputation with 90% of respondents agreeing a crisis presents an opportunity if managed well.
The top reputational risk cited are recalled products, fraud, bribery, corruption, terrorist and cyber-attacks.
