Employee engagement dips

 

Global employee engagement levels have fallen from 65% in 2015 to 63% in 2016.

The Aon Hewitt 2017 Trends in Global Employee Engagement report reveals the first drop in employee engagement since 2012.

There are differences across regions with some areas in fact seeing an increase in employee engagement. From 2015 levels, employee engagement in North America has decreased one per cent to 64%. European levels fell two per cent to 58%, while Asia Pacific suffered a three per cent drop to 62%. Both South America and Africa gained on 2015 levels with three per cent and two per cent increases to 75% and 61% respectively.

Fewer than one quarter (24%) of employees are highly engaged across the world and 39% are moderately engaged.

The report is based on data collected from five million employees at over 1,000 organisations globally.
