How plugging into the data revolution drives engagement?,

Data is constantly being collected. Just by living our lives in the digital world we release personal information, all the time. Among other implications, this state of affairs has revolutionised corporations’ understanding of consumer behaviour.

In the November edition of Communication Directory newsletter, The Economist Group’s Stephane Pére breaks through the hype surrounding data and reveals how it can be used to contribute directly to a brand’s business model. Companies can now test their professional intuition to attract the right customer and provide the best service to them. But, as Stephane shows, they first need to align their internal players.

Elsewhere in our newsletter, we present our usual mix of personnel changes, events and job opportunities in the communication world, along with a look into how C-Suite executives around the world perceive issues surrounding gender equality in the highest echelons of their companies.

As we rush towards the end of year, we wish you an enjoyable and productive November.

Not only is data a strategic asset: it can help drive brand engagement and contribute to the bottom line.

The world has seen an explosion of data collection. We are becoming ‘datafied’; our locations, behaviours, interests, patterns and interactions. In the past, data was very expensive to collect, usually via surveys or a census, but today the ability to do so easily and at reduced cost makes it meaningful and helps unlock new opportunities.
