Recent innovations at the Metro Group gives employees the chance to directly contact their cheif executive

Constantly changing customer requirements and increasing global competition present the trade and retail sector in particular with huge challenges. Companies that want long-term profit and success have to keep a constant critical eye on their strategies. Are we – in terms of our organisation, business processes and cost structure – optimally prepared for tomorrow’s challenges? Extensive adaptations are necessary to ensure that the company setup remains clearly focused on the future. For example, analysis may reveal that it makes economic sense to tap new markets, optimise existing business areas or redefine responsibilities. Whatever the case, the important thing is that changes can only be implemented successfully if the workforce understands why they are necessary, recognises the benefits and helps carry the burden of change. Because the employees form the heart of any company; they bring its internal structures and processes to life.
