How do you explain your job to your friends? 
I tell them that my job is to explain to the press the reasoning behind Norway’s environmental policy. However, the most important part of my work is to create opportunities for the minister and the deputy minister to be profiled in the media.
Jon Berg is head of information at the Ministry of Environment in Norway, a position he has occupied since 2006. Prior to this, he was information manager at the Norwegian Ship-owners’ Association between 2005 and 2006, having moved there from a position as television and radio reporter at the news desk of Norwegian Broadcasting, a role he had held since 1995.
