How do you explain your job to your friends?
I help brands to engage in mutual beneficial multi-stakeholder relationships – both internally and externally – in line with their specific needs and expectations and thus driving them as sterling reputations to partner with or consume from.
If heads of corporate communications didn’t exits, what would your profession be?
I would work in Investigation and Research, which is why I’m undergoing a doctoral programme on communication sciences, trying to figure out the state of art and interdependencies of governance, trust management and corporate social responsibility communications.

In addition to his current role as executive board member and director of corporate communications and public affairs at international non-governmental organisation Dianova, Rui Martins is a member of the coordination committee and representative for Portugal at the Communication on Top Forum in Davos, as well as an invited assistant professor at the Universidade Catolica Portugesea, Portugal. His previous positions include strategic consultant at Tinkle Lisboa, associate director, corporate communications, at Hill & Knowlton Portugal and senior associate, corporate communications, at Burson-Marsteller Lisbon.
