There are some CEOs who have consistently been in the media limelight and who seem to command a considerable audience at every turn (Rupert Murdoch and Steve Jobs being the most obvious examples). There are others, however, who seemingly leap from obscurity to worldwide eminence (or notoriety) in a flash, from a back-room businessman to a media headliner almost overnight. And very often, CEOs can be returned to relative anonymity nearly as speedily.
