IE: IRFU appoint new Communications & Media Officer

The Irish Rugby Football Union today announced the appointment of David Ó Síocháin as Communications & Media Officer.

Síocháin will join the IRFU on October 1 from Pembroke Communications' Sports and Sponsorship Division where he worked with Paralympics Ireland, Athletics Ireland, the Institute of Sport, Triathlon Ireland and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, amongst others.

A keen rugby player and coach, David has played top grade club rugby in Ireland and New Zealand, coached Schools rugby, Women's rugby, Under-21s and senior rugby in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League.

The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) is the body managing rugby union in Ireland. The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where Irish rugby union international matches are played. In addition, the Union also owns Ravenhill in Belfast, Thomond Park in Limerick and a number of grounds in provincial areas that have been rented to clubs.
