United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IrelandThomas Cook restructures communications

Travel business Thomas Cook has restructured the communications and marketing function for its hotels and resorts business, promoting David Child, currently head of comms for the division, to the broader role of head of communications and marketing.

The creation of the new role comes as group marketing manager Jamie Queen leaves Thomas Cook at the end of April, after five years with the company.

In other in-house changes at Thomas Cook, Phil Gardner assumes responsibility for UK marketing in addition to his existing commercial remit; Jill Duffell has been promoted from head of UK consumer PR to head of consumer communications and campaigns, and senior consumer comms manager Laura Askew becomes Duffell’s deputy.

Thomas Cook Group plc is a British global travel company. It was formed on 19 June 2007 by the merger of Thomas Cook AG, itself the successor to Thomas Cook & Son, and MyTravel Group plc. The group owns a number of tour operators, as well as airlines based in the United Kingdom, Germany, Scandinavia and Balearics.
