Leading communicators in Asia-Pacific (APAC) anticipate a positive trajectory for the communications function in the region.
The predictions are based on a survey of delegates at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Communications Summit in Hong Kong, conducted by specialist marketing and communications consultancy VMA Group.
Over 80% of senior corporate communications managers foresee the influence exerted by their function steadily increasing across the region over the next two years.
The research found that slightly more than half (52%) of senior communications professionals operating in the Asia-Pacific region are anticipating growth in their communications function in 2016.
The survey also suggests that top communications talent could be travelling across the market with 69% of respondents open to new career opportunities. In this group 62% are “considering opportunities” and 7% “actively looking”, indicating a passive, yet positive, market.
